That will be a nice addition to APSU.

On the theme of colleges, Welch College is building their new campus on 66 acres on the west side of Gallatin.  From the Tennessean:  http://www.tennessean.com/story/news/local/sumner/gallatin/2016/05/06/welch-graduation-new-chapter-students-college/84022334/

Of course, most of you know this college sold their properties on West End to a developer for dozens of high dollar townhouses. Last time I was up in Nashville, I noticed those are well underway. So where have the students been?

From the article:  College officials announced in June 2015 that Mike Ford Custom Builders had purchased 7.14 acres of Welch’s 7.6-acre West End Avenue property for $11.25 million. The deal brought an end to the private Christian school’s lengthy efforts to sell the property and move to a new campus. With relocation plans beginning to take shape and the success Welch is experiencing with its capital campaign, Pinson said the college has “great anticipation” for the future.

Franklin Synergy Bank has loaned $24 million to Franklin-based SouthStar LLC, which plans a mixed-use project on 22 acres at 1214 Liberty Pike. That includes a 120,000-square-foot Life Time facility, to open in late 2017, and at least one other building, three stories and containing almost 50,000 square feet of office and retail space.

I absolutely love what Franklin has done and continues to do with their downtown.  It is absolutely beautiful, and I'm so happy to see them continue to encourage high quality development that is urban in nature and extends the pedestrian friendly environment that is historic downtown Franklin.

Franklin has an added advantage over a lot of the old traditional town centers....it's popular. Not just enough to keep the storefronts filled, but to actually allow for a modern expansion to its downtown. It's more than a novelty.

I think other cities/towns are doing a decent job, but they simply don't have Franklin's draw.

Thinking of what Murfreesboro could do to its downtown would make you blush. They just need to embrace it.

This is beyond Williamson County, but i wasn't sure where to put it since it definitely effects the southern portion of the MSA: Bonnaroo Fest officials and Live Nation looking at expanding potential of the site by hosting as many as 3-4 more events per year after a new deal is brokered with Coffee County.

French energy management and automation giant Schneider Electric has received IDB incentives for what is believed will be their American HQ.  The incentives are for the 1150 jobs with an average salary of $73k.  The governor's office is expected to make an announcement soon. Below is what their buildings (278k s.f.)at Two Franklin Park will look like. I have not been in that area in the past year or so, but I understand there are several clones of this building already underway/completed. Seems like there's on that's taller than the rest.

Williamson or Rutherford counties high on list for proposed Tanger Outlet Mall (400,000 sq. feet of retail):

I love Tanger Outlets but is Nashville large enough for a third outlet mall? Is the one in Lebanon still struggling?
