Love this updated look for Ovation and really glad to hear that it's finally starting this summer.  The southern part of Cool Springs should be really booming by the end of this year.  Ovation, Mallory Green, Northside at McEwen, Resource Center development, continued buildout of Franklin Park, Mosby Cool Springs, and on and on.  That's gonna be a WHOLE lot of office (and a good amount of residential) coming online there in 2019-2020.  Really like to see that a lot of this new stuff is heavily mixed-use as well and not just office.

According to NP, the Predators and Montgomery County, and Austin Peay, are in early discussions on partnering for a new multi-event arena with seating of 25,000. No location identified.

Boclair writes: "Austin Peay State University is also part of the talks for the proposed venue, which, according to studies, would feature a regulation hockey rink and seating capacity of up to 25,000. The ice surface could be converted to a basketball floor, convention or event space as needed. The site also could house one or two secondary rinks, more than a dozen executive suits, plus meeting and club rooms."

So is this a possible option for a Preds preseason facility, or is Clarksville big enough to support a minor league hockey franchise?

An arena larger than Bridgestone, FedEx Forum, Rupp, and Thompson-Boling?  In fact, at 25,000 seats it would be the 2nd largest basketball arena in the country, after the Carrier Dome in Syracuse.  I just don't see it.

25,000 is ridiculous. A 10,000 seat minor league hockey arena along 101st Airborne Highway however, would be a great addition to the city. It would have easy access from Fort Campbell and the City of Clarksville (150,000 +/- population). I think something of that scale would work and draw the soldiers and families who come from all over the USA to serve. And Clarksville itself is full of transplants. Clarksville desperately needs some form of home grown attraction and not rely on Nashville for entertainment so much. I can see a Single A minor league ballpark going there some day. Bowling Green already has one.

Austin Peay has a very nice, 10,000 max seating arena, but struggles to draw more than 3,000 a game in a good year.

A 25,000-seater is way too ambitious for Clarksville. It would only be filled if there's a rodeo, or if Trump visits.

Please forgive my ignorance, but where is Berry Farms? It is so easy to loose track of where everything is back home. It's been way to long since I have lived in TN.

It's the Goose Creek exit off of 65, opposite side of the highway from the AgExpo center.  If you haven't been that way lately, it is booming big-time.  I've heard it said that it's becoming "cool springs south."

It certainly can be.  Dave Ramsey already has plans for a new HQ campus and the side by Lewisburg Pike has a lot of great places opening up.  It "looks" like they are moving ground a little on the east side of 65.

Holy crap! Seems like yesterday that was a 2 lane road and a gas station.

Plans starting to formulate for the roughly four-acre targeted site at the northeast corner of West McEwen Drive and Mallory Lane near the Toyota of Cool Springs car dealership. Franklin-based Parkes Development Group and its partners (who also developed the Melrose project 8th South and the Nashville West shopping center paid $7.3 million for the land.

MontCo's population article from the Leaf-Chronicle:  http://www.theleafchronicle.com/story/news/local/clarksville/2017/04/03/montgomery-county-population-tops-195000/99984412/

From the article: Montgomery County’s population was 195,734 as of July 1, 2016. The increase from July 1, 2015, to July 1, 2016, means the county gained 2,440 new residents.

My observation: With an increase of 23,372 from 2010-2016, it appears that growth slowed a bit from an annual pace of around 4200 for the first five years. So if that was an aberration, then the county could break 200,000 very soon. If that's a new downward trend, it should happen in the next year.
