Starting a new thread for general industry investments and news.

Among other big announcements lately, McKee (Little Debbie) is investing in $102 million in a new plant and office building. McKee, based in Collegedale, is a model corporate citizen. They are supporters of the local college (Southern Adventist University) and community at-large. Someone in the vicinity of the college and their plant on adjacent property can smell the aroma of cakes baking. I've even been able to tell what product they are making, just by the smell.  The apple cakes are unmistakable.

"For the office space, McKee already has begun construction of a three-story, 60,000-square-foot building next to its headquarters at University Drive and Apison Pike."

Privately held McKee, the maker of Little Debbie products, Drake's snacks and Sunbelt cereal, already employs about 3,400 workers in Chattanooga and has 6,400 employees across the entire company.
