Hard Rock Hartford

HARTFORD – Hard Rock International announced Monday that it planned to open Hard Rock Hartford in the Downtown North neighborhood.

Developed in collaboration with Centerplan Companies and managed by Hard Rock International, the 170-room hotel will be situated at the corner of Main and Trumbull Streets. The hotel would open in 2018.

What block is this located on? Is it across Trumbull or Main from the stadium?

A few more details. It will sit right across Main Street from the Park where his construction trailer sits now.   It will be a seven story building.

Here's the curious part.  Also, given all the talk of a new casino somewhere in the state, it made sense to ask whether Jason Rudnick, president of Centerplan Companies, had plans to make a bid. “There is no casino play with regard to the Hard Rock Hotel,” he said.

The Hard Rock operates casino/hotels across in the south.  They have a cafe at Foxwoods and an existing relationship with the gambling tribes in the state. It must have been discussed.  It makes a ton more sense than a slot box in East Hartford.

I personally would favor putting a casino into the mix at Hard Rock.
