Charlotte's Congressional Districts

Great news in regards to congressional districts, but the maps of district 1 and 12 have been invalidated by a federal court. The state has one week to redraw the maps (and that probably means the neighboring maps as well). This could lead to fair and better representation of Charlotte and Raleigh on a federal level.

I'm really shocked to be Bob Ruccho on the side arguing to keep the districts as is.  Stunned, NAY, FLABBERGASTED.

This could be NC's new congressional map. Note that district 12 will cover all of Mecklenburg, except for Matthews, Mint Hill, and South Charlotte, which will be covered by district 9. This still has to be approved by the feds. Also note that in four years, the maps will be completely redrawn, since NC is slated to pick up another congressional district.

This is a great farewell present to Rucho, imo.
