Homewood Suites - Main and Markley

Recommended Posts

I was on the fence on this design, but at the DRB meeting they showed a 3D rendering that showed much better than the 2D renderings in the application.  I think this will make a nice addition to the West End.

The hotel developer has closed on the parking lot on the corner of Markley and Main, so there should be some movement on this before too long.

I was at Macs Speedshop last weekend.  Looked like possibly some type of cleanup going on inside the old body shop.  (Asbestos or mold)

Same. :) Looks like it will have a rooftop terrace similar to the new Embassy Suites.

I do as well. You guys know I'm pretty critical of some of the architecture going up right now, but this is one of the better ones. I'd still like a little more height with a smaller footprint, but perhaps for this location, this is about right.

Sometimes looking at the architectural proposals for downtwon reminds me of the Joker checking out Vicky Vale's portfollio; "Crap. Crap. Crap, Crap, crap, crap... Now, that's good work! ... I don't know if it's art, but I like it."

It feels weird driving past there everyday for the last 10 years and not having that auto body shop there. This is a huge Improvement but it definitely has a odd feeling right now with the empty construction site there and the apartments going on up the road where the church was.
