That statement should have ended with "...said nobody ever." To be fair though, the architect and developer did themselves no favors with the rendering. It has horrendous coloring and the representation of the glass is unfortunate.

I'm really liking how this is turning out. I don't think that final rendering did it any favors either.  I went back and looked at the DRB application and it looks like this will be brick from top to bottom, no stucco.

It will be interesting to see how much infill takes place between this hotel and the Main/River intersection. It has sufferred from  a lack of pedestrians before now.  Hopefully if will really start to fill in now. 

When the city turns its focus to the site they own by the train tracks, I’m sure development will follow. Especially if they build a new city garage there (hopefully with access only off Augusta so there won’t be a curbcut. That and the lot that Cigar Warehouse uses for parking.
