New Hampton Inn & Suites Opening in Downtown Winston-Salem

CN Hotels has begun construction of an 119 room Hampton Inn & Suites Hotel on the corner of N. Cherry and Third Streets according to recent reports by the WS Journal. A hotel spokesman said “We looked at the downtown urban core and saw the number of full-service hotels already there and on its way.” he said. “We felt a Hampton Inn & Suites would be a good fit for a typical business, convention and leisure traveler.”  This is the second hotel currently under construction in the Central Business District. The Kimpton Cardinal Hotel moves toward its late Spring opening, bringing 174 guest rooms and 35 suites on the bottom six floors at 51 E. Fourth St., the historic R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. headquarters. There is also credible speculation that a hotel will be coming in the not too distant future in the Innovation Quarter on Downtown's eastside.

Work continues on the new Hampton Inn/Suites at N. Cherry & W. Third in downtown Winston-Salem. Word is final design of the building is forthcoming.
