Yea but how long ago was that?  I have only been here since the late 90's and it was already BBB by the time 2007 rolled around.  It could very well be its been BBB since I've been in town and I just recognized the architecture and my mind just automatically filled in the blanks.

Oh, it opened in ‘86. You are psychic for MFC and “it’s all coming back to me now” as the song says. Of course, those wonderful chicken livers will live in my heart forever so I get it!

it’s quite possible as you point out that  you remember an MFC from elsewhere in town, though. I think at one point we had more of those in town than KFCs, although that definitely wasn’t the case by the ‘90’s (btw, the first one was on OBT - my usual one was at Pine Hills Rd just north of Silver Star).

Meanwhile, oh-so-trendy (or it was several years ago, so as usual we’re a bit behind the curve, but nevertheless) Warby Parker is coming to Park Ave.

The best part of this is that retail is at last making a comeback on Winter Park’s high street. For a bit, it looked like it would become just another restaurant row.

Isn't SEE (within the frame of that photo) an eyeglasses store?  Also I have Warby Parker glasses since 2014 and I swore it was online only.

SEE is apparently right by them. They started out online and then dipped their toe in the brick and mortar a few years back. Millenia has one.

Fun fact: one of the Harry’s founders did Warby also. Interestingly, they tried a location in NYC, decided against it and started selling at Target and (egad!) Walmart.

Lombardi’s, probably the first name that comes to mind locally for seafood (much like Petty’s Meats for the items that moo), has closed its in-house cafe.

As a result, they’ll be expanding their retail offerings:

It seems like a lot of comings and goings on West Fairbanks lately, what with Bad As’s closing and @codypet’s beloved UFO relocating. It will be interesting to see how that stretch will shake out when all is said and done.

I had to get this in for @prahaboheme since his favorite architects are working on this successor to the Fred Stone Theatre at Rollins:

Apparently B&B has now taken control of WP also…

Cannot say I’m surprised that Rollins has gone the way of B&B as of late given the Mc’style they’ve gravitated to over the last decade for the campus.

A mixed use urban designed development is being discussed for I4 and Fairbanks. Per the Mayor "an undisclosed development group has expressed interest in building apartments, commercial buildings, open park space and a parking garage".

FKA the "Formosa Triangle" is formed by Fairbanks at the top, Formosa to the right and I4 as the hypotenuse and includes roughly 13 acres (10 of which would need to be annexed by WP), is owned by a dozen entities (mostly related to 1 party) and straddles OC, Orlando and WP borders.
