Don't know that I have ever seen this before.  Some of you architects or structural engineers can help me out, perhaps.  On the southwest corner of this 40 story tower the load bearing pillars are offset for three floors to allow the vertical column in the high-rise portion to be 3-4 feet away from the corner of the tower.  They must have done this to allow for unobstructed views on the corner, but isn't that unusual for such a tall building?  Seems like they would want the column to go straight up from the footing.

From a loading standpoint, it is always best to have the columns straight stacked on top of one another, yes. From a value standpoint, being able to have open corners adds a great value to the experience of the end user. Circle South is going to have similar structural technique to get the "leaning" effect.

In watching the building get taller, in relation to the Pinnacle building, I remember how opposed to it they were because of the blocked views. By the time Pinnacle folks are back working in the building they will be in for a shock as quickly as the building is rising.

lol I didn't even notice that. It's barely begun and already dwarfed. Oh well those guy's who have owned there awhile's property values will only continue to go up regardless, so I don't feel too bad.

Honestly, I kind of like being surrounded on all sides by high rises. Can’t wait for the Asurion lot to be developed, which will complete the neighborhood.

The original buyers had a 360 degree view, of mainly surface parking lots... now they have no view, but blocked by Nashville's newest developments.. I think I'd rather be in the middle of Sobro.

The footprint of this thing is incredible!  The floor count should accelerate once they get past the base floors and only work on the More slender tower portion.  Another thing is I wouldn’t be shocked if this beast ends up taller in feet than originally estimated.

I was driving across the  Gateway Bridge into the city the the other day and looked over, this one will be front and MF center from that view and will be super impressive. Looking forward to seeing how much it changes that vista.

The positioning on this building is perfect.  It’s been years since I drove through there so correct me if I’m wrong but as you come into town from I-40 that tower is going to be right in front of you very quickly and will appear significantly taller and more impressive than Batman.   Is anyone here able to do a mock up rendering from that angle?
