Review board OKs eight-story, 60-unit downtown complex

A luxury condominium development proposed for the Palafox corridor in downtown Pensacola cleared a major hurdle this week on its way to reshaping the city's skyline.

Brian Spencer, an architect, the lead developer and a downtown revitalization enthusiast, says the impact of the eight-story, 60-unit, condo complex will be more than aesthetic, however.

Located on the southeast corner of the intersection at Main and Palafox streets and running the length of the block to the south, the mixed-use development, named the Floridian, would bring an infusion of long-desired residents to the walkable heart of downtown, he said.
