1102 Grundy St. in the North Gulch is a warehouse that was built in 1951 covering 24,500 sq. ft. over a single floor.  It has been reimagined as Pins Mechanical Company and 16 Bit-Bar. It has been expanded by 6,000 sq. ft. Between the 2 attractions, there are 40 classic arcade games, 16 lanes of duckpin bowling, 20 pinball machines, bocce ball, Connect Four, and Giant Jenga.  There are also 24 taps at each, pull-in slots for food trucks.  The complex had its official opening on oct. 28th.

Looks like a great spot and should see plenty of traffic!

Problem right now is they are going to be surrounded by construction for the next few years. Asuiron across the street, Edition next door, what ever goes where the Valley Arts building is after it is torn down , NES power station on the other side of them, and what ever goes where the Tennessean building is.

Literally surrounded by construction.

The former Mad Platter building at 1239 6th Ave. North (2 stories, 3,900 sq. ft., built in 1900) will now be the home for Mother's Ruin,  based on a bar/restaurant that operates in Manhattan.  $1.3 million has been invested to convert the interior, adding  a back terrace/patio. They expect to be open during the last week of November.

That's the big question about that site and the adjacent 2 parcels (behind and beside). The property behind it was slated for a House of Blues a few years back. The parcel next door was slated for a boutique hotel.  Neither has happened. So nobody knows what's in the offing now. Speculation is that all three properties will be combined in something similar to the Moxy. Maybe a bigger House of Blues, which would do great there.

Belmont University Mansion (originally known as Belle Monte, was built in 1853 on a 180 acre estate of Joseph and Adelcia Acklen as an Italian villa-style  summer home. Eventually it became the main building for Belmont University, and still has some administrative offices to this day, as well as being a museum.  It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places starting in 1971.

Happy to report that 311 22nd Ave. North (3 stories, 5,500 sq. ft., built in 1935) is going to remain.  Was just sold for $1.75 million to Alexander Shunnarah & Assoc. law firm, and they plan to move their offices into the elegant home. The previous owner had purchased the structure in 1989 for $315,000.

Nice feature in Nashville Post Magazine by William Williams on how many older church structures are being converted to other uses. Off the top of my head, I can think of at least  23 church structures that have been saved and repurposed just in Davidson County alone.  I'm sure there are more.
