1111 Carouthers Ave. covers 1,698 sq. ft. over its 2 floors and was built in 1925.  It is now the home of Wanna Spoon Cereal Bar, which should open very soon.

216 3rd Ave. North (3 stories 6,615 sq. ft., circa 1950---although I think it may be older than that) is going to be renovated for a new restaurant on the first floor and have 2 additional floors of residential added on top of two other floors of living space.  No word yet on the eatery/bar for the ground level.

Adding a rooftop addition plus a rooftop pool to this building is gonna be a lot of logistical fun haha.

If I had to guess looking at that drawings provided Dryden is the architect of the project?

Comma Design Works is listed as architect in the document.

^^^Totally agree.  Rob Lowe is redeveloping the Arcade  and purchasing old buildings on 4th and 5th ave.  I feel Nashville will have many pockets of entertainment.  The cool thing is we will be able to walk from one to the other.  The Gulch, Nashville Yards, riverfront along 1st ave all the way from Pubic S to Rolling Mill Hill,  Peabody street in SoBro from the river to The Ritz at the roundabout and of course Lower Broadway.

MDHA has given conditional approval to the renovation of the Starr Piano Building located at 240 Rep John Lewis Way. Jarman Development is undertaking the project with STG Design handling the architecture/interiors, while Benesch is civil, Balata is handling structural  design and Wilson and Girgenti are handling Mechanical/Electrical/Plumbing.

Hooray!   I've wanted to see this happen for a long, long time.    Such an incredible facade.    Does the article say anything about the intended use?   Looks like office on the top 3 floors.

The entire building will be a four unit STR building. Each unit will have multiple bedrooms with each bedroom having a slightly different theme.

Mark's post includes the detail that it will be four units of residential at 2700 square feet each.

East End United Methodist Church has released a rendering for the rebuilt sanctuary and steeple that were heavily damaged in the March 2020 tornado.

EEUMC Rev. Scott Marshall-Kimball said the roughly 400-member congregation is working with the Federal Emergency Management Agency Private Nonprofit Assistance Program to finalize a grant that will enable the project to move forward.

The program provides nonprofits funds that bridge the gap between insurance payouts and the fair replacement cost of buildings damaged by federally declared disasters.

“Once we are approved, we should have a couple of months of review from FEMA’s historic preservation group before being given a potential go ahead to begin construction,” Marshall-Kimball said.

The price tag to reinvent the property is estimated to be between $13 million and $15 million.

The MHZC meeting date is Sept. 21.
