The developer of 2400 CRESTMOOR targeted for Green Hills, has landed a permit to demolish a structure standing on the footprint of the proposed mixed-use project to include two hotels.

Gallatin-based Green & Little is teaming with Chartwell Hospitality and Leeward Caye Interests on the project, which will be locate at the point at which Crestmoor Avenue curves and becomes Cleghorn Avenue. Environmental Abatement is handling the razing, with the permit value at $44,000.

The project will include an eight-story building to feature the 207-room boutique The Green Hills Hilton. In addition, a nine-story building will offer an upscale 116-room Marriott Residence Inn, 30,000 square feet of Class A office space, street-level retail space and a parking garage.

If they want to continue that style and class inside the Hilton then I'd suggest hiring the designers who did the Inn at Penn which is also a Hilton hotel. It's one of my favorites, it screams Ivy League (as it should). I think Green Hills would approve.

Demo on most of the site has begun.  Two single-story buildings were flattened and scraped late last week.  The larger 3-story glass structure toward the back right of this shot will be coming down very soon.  This angle is looking north along Cleghorn Avenue from the western entrance to Green Hills Mall parking garage:

Would love to see those power lines go underground as part of the project.

From today's Nashville Post:

"Work on a major mixed-use development in Green Hills and to include two hotels has taken a major step forward with the landing of two permits. Gallatin-based Green & Little LP, Chartwell Hospitality and Leeward Caye Interests LLC are teaming to developed 2400 CRESTMOOR. The development entity has landed a permit valued at $1.3 million for a an eight-story Hilton hotel.

"It has also secured a permit valued at $3 million for a building to include a nine-story Residence Inn by Marriott, 30,000 square feet of Class A office space, street-level retail space and a parking garage.

"The buildings will be constructed at the point at which Crestmoor Avenue curves and becomes Cleghorn Avenue. From today's Nashville Post:

Work on a major mixed-use development in Green Hills — and to include two hotels — continues to move forward after the issuing of two permits. Gallatin-based Green & Little LP, Chartwell Hospitality and Leeward Caye Interests LLC are teaming to developed 2400 CRESTMOOR.

The permits are valued at $13.5 million and $9.8 million respectively. The issuance of the permits follows the issuing in September of two permits. One, valued at $1.3 million, was for the eight-story Hilton hotel, while the other, valued at $3 million, is for a nine-story Residence Inn by Marriott, 30,000 square feet of Class A office space, street-level retail space and a parking garage.

Memphis-based McMurry Construction Co. is the general contractor. The buildings are being constructed at the point at which Crestmoor Avenue curves and becomes Cleghorn Avenue.

The two buildings will offer a traditional exterior design highlighted by brick, cultured stone and glass. They will anchor the west side of Cleghorn across from The Mall at Green Hills.
