Fairmont is promoting their upcoming Austin hotel and will be taking reservations in January for summer 2017.  Here are some of the new renderings from Fairmont's website.

There's an awesome updated 1080P time lapse video of the construction progress posted on Youtube.  Those slabs at center left are part of the Waller Park Place site.

Here are a few stills taken from the video.

Here it is, waiting for its 139' spire as well as the skywalk connection to the convention center.  Will the spire be added via helicopter or crane?  That's the question we're waiting to find out.

The construction contractor is suing a subcontractor for $27 million for causing construction delays.  The current opening date is set for August.  I'm sure the developer is doing everything possible to get this open before ACL Fest and the F1 race.

AusTxDevelopment has some excellent shots of the Fairmont.  I'll post some more in the U/C Projects thread.  The undeveloped and underdeveloped sites at center and on the right side of this photo are where Austin based Sutton Development is planning six towers in the 300' to 700' range.  Sutton has an equity partner in all six projects, but Sutton doesn't have a good track record in getting stuff done.  But something will be going up at those sites with or without Sutton.
