I seem to recall the render for this one was in fact dark colored.  Can anyone confirm that the dark exterior/cladding is the final look?

I've been meaning to go into the permit database to look at this project and I found that we will have Aluminum Composite Metal Panels (ACM) as the exterior façade. This is the same product we are seeing on 805 Lea and the Harlowe. The same elevations calls for Black mullions on the window wall components so this leads me to confidently confirm a black or at least darker façade. That being said, similar to the Harlowe and 805 Lea, we will need to see additional framing and continuous insulation to be installed on the exterior of the building prior to getting a finished look.

The rendering from the development map is pretty vague with final finishes.

Yep, it was coming down this morning when I was driving by Vandy. We will be in a bit of a lull for a while , but the crane count will really pick back up by this time next year.

We had four crane bases erected last week, 2 at 1111 Church, 1 at Neuhoff, and 1 at the Cambria. We don’t seem to be skipping a beat.

Prime should get its crane in a few weeks too. Still have the 2 at one22one. And isn’t there a small one a block south of Charlotte around 15th? Saw it from interstate last time I was up there.

There was plentiful time and opportunities for someone--ANYone--to step up and save the Warren House when the property was for sale.  It was on the market for several years, and nada from any preservationists. Then when it was sold as part of a larger land deal and the developers offered it for free to be moved elsewhere, no one did.  So whining about it now is fruitless.

Metro and NES made it too expensive as moving the power lines alone was to be in excess of a million dollars. Metro rarely puts it’s money where its mouth is when it comes to historical preservation. All talk and very little action. The only reason 2nd Ave was saved to the degree it was is because their hand was forced by a crazy bomber. They at least had an overlay and zoning in place to protect the area.

Metro Historic Commission Foundation is basically a toothless and clawless lion when it names the Nashville Nine every year.

Metro does not have the political will power to pass historic overlays where they need to put them unless the neighbors want them. I know some are opposed to these overlays in the neighborhoods but preserving history and keeping the character of some of these older neighborhoods in tact. To tear down some buildings for the sake of progress can be disingenuous. Imagine if it were the Empire State Building. Its old, lets tear it down. Do you think there would be outrage? Just think if Louisville decided not to preserve Old Louisville?

What makes one building any less important than another if there were some rich history. Just because it is Nashville history which we are losing does not make it any less important. I know there will be more losses coming, but just making a point.

Metro did a horrible job in the preservation dept. There were some wins like the Ryman but they wanted to tear that down too. Metro should have started to protect these buildings back in the 70’s by working with the property owners then, but we have to look at the leadership of the city. Denver is a prime example of success.  When visiting other cities I love little surprises like an old mansion tucked away among the high-rises. Tearing down a building for the sake of progress is not always the solution.

Over on the Raleigh thread we're lamenting the loss of these two historical buildings to be replaced by a 6 story project. 
Same challenge as Nashville - not enough protection of historical assets.

Calling out bland is not whining. Lamenting the loss of our city's history is not whining. The fact that the people with the money to buy up historic properties in this town generally choose not to unless there is an overlay protecting the property is regrettable. But do go on.
