One thing I hadn't noticed in the renderings was how the pedestal portion of the structure  facing Division Street curves to match the contour of road.  Very cool. There will be retail/restaurants along much of the first level, along with a lobby for the residents, and and entrance for the parking garage recessed within.

I know many of us have beaten this dead horse over and over,  but something really does have to give here. It may be more expensive in the short term, but long term it’s a great investment to get them buried. Power outages are a lot less likely and they don’t have to be replaced as often.

Agree. Seems like Nashville is hoping to do this over the next hundred years by making each project undertake burying the lines as it develops. The right thing to do would be to bite the bullet and form a plan to do it across the city.

Well that's the biggest problem, folks do not see the long-term really, they only see the short-term increase in rates. It would cost hundreds of millions to bury all the lines and it's mostly because a majority of Davidson County has bedrock close to the surface, thus launching the cost upwards, and it really then becomes less cost-effective in the grand scheme.

But with the new technology that we heard about regarding the underground tunnel for our transit system, isn't it time to begin to push this?  Also, if anyone saw the salaries of a LARGE number of NES employees in a recent Green Hills News article, trimming a few of those would go a long way toward starting moving lines underground.  Also, how can Murfreesboro have so many underground  and Nashville so few?
