I don't think this site plan has changed a ton since we last saw this plan. Guthrie Street is still a big head scratcher to me, but I see the desire for right turns getting cars heading towards the interstate. I wholeheartedly disagree with the traffic signal to allow left hand turns on to KVB.  I love the mid-block crosswalk! Rather than a full vehicle intersection though I feel it should be a Hawk Signal with a pedestrian refuge in the median (that they would be ripping out for this intersection).

One justification for the anti-left turn opinion (because I know folks will disagree). If you have ever been on KVB during high traffic times, you know the left turn lane(s) on to Hermitage back up the inside lane sometimes on to the bridge. with this new intersection we have to know that the lane will still back up and people trying to make a left turn off Guthrie will just create gridlock on KVB. If folks leaving this development want to turn left onto KVB, they should have to go via the Hermitage/KVB intersection.

Pardon the anal retentive nature of this comment.  Was it really necessary to use that giant signage to signify what that structure is?  That's hilarious to me.  

Tomorrow, we're using the same sized lettering and putting "BRIDGE" on Sigenthaler and KVB!

I'd still like to know why they built just a garage and didn’t actually build a garage with an office or residential building on top of it.  Seems like wasted space. (and yes…I’m sure it’s about some “height limit”). I’ve just always thought it was funny that they’d say “We can’t start on the new Hensler building (with a garage probably) until we build a garage for the cars on the site of the Hensler property."

MDHA leases out that lot to tenants of the Trolley Barns as well as Asurion. They(MDHA) rightfully replaced that parking before closing the lot. 
 

The location of the garage is in a weird spot next to the hill at the back of the site. A residential / office building would be kind of odd at that site.

I’m actually just happy the signage does NOT say “Trolley Barns” public parking, because as we know there never were trolleys on this site.   The historic Metro garages that have now been creatively converted to retail and office space (and very well done) once housed Metro’s bus and utility vehicle storage and repair operations, but no trolleys/trains/streetcars.    But yes, the new parking facility adapts well to the site and doesn’t impair the views and amenities of residents of the various Rolling Mill Hill residential buildings, which MDHA facilitated.

With all the talk over on 2nd Avenue now, would love to see some progress on this project for sure. Not to mention the parking garage is finally complete so hopefully it will head that way, not sure if anyone has any insights?

I've looked at the 1201 Demonbreun project and I've looked at the Peabody Plaza one.  And after very careful consideration, I've concluded one single solitary thing.   Whoever this Eakin person is, must be stopped.
