I agree. To me, its design is not any more interesting than the budget Holiday Inn next to it. Unfortunate too, because I'm sure the per-room cost of the Joseph (excluding the furnishings) was significantly higher.  No doubt, that went toward higher quality materials and sound abatement, etc... but from the street, nah!

I do like the angles at the corner though.

Agreed completely.  Probably the greatest thing about a building that I notice immediately is the design of the windows. This one is bland.

I do like the angles at the corner though. 

For me, I was hoping that the metal finish would be a bit more metallic, vs the kind of flat finish that we ended up with.
 

It’s still by far my favorite of the hotels built along KVB, and the corner facing 4th and KVB really is striking, especially when contrasted with the Bell Tower across the street.
