Yes Starbucks is going in on the corner on ground floor of Home2Suites hotel.  I thought someone told me they were all leased out the spaces in Stonewall Station but maybe not.

What's going on with the modular hotel? I feel like I haven't seen any movement on this part of the site in several weeks.

Def agree,  I wonder what it would look like if they had used that grey shade of color on the entire beige part, kept some white color and broke up the exterior by wood cladding, metal work and some black paint for the trim.  If i had any skills in photoshop i would create something, but i have no clue what I am doing in PS.

View of all the new apartments along Stonewall.   This transformation is unbelievable since it was all vacant lots minus one nightclub.    This morning I saw several people walking their dogs up Stonewall in front of the Whole Foods .

Don't forget that Actor's Theatre of Charlotte was in one of these parcels and got booted for an apartment building.

I really wish Gyu Kaku can come ASAP. But it seems there are no activity on the ground floor ratail space there.

Had to park down in front of Savoy today and walked up Stonewall and so naturally I took a few photos LOL.   I think the Even Hotel once the rooms arrive will go up very rapidly.  Anyway crossing South Blvd and Caldwell wow that is one wide street.  I did see someone walking back to the those apartments further down with a Whole Foods bag.  I have not parked in this area since the NBA Allstar game festivities.  I do like the wide sidewalks and benches much like in front of Whole Food as it is needed as Stonewall is a fast artery out of town.  Lots of retail space on the ground level of these apartment complexes.    Snapping photos today like a first time tourist!

Photos from today and story about the Beer garden /outdoor brewery coming next to Savoy.  It says it will have skyline views but driving by it today that is hard for me to see.  Maybe down behind the Stonewall corridor apartments complex and some over towards courthouse.  But I guess we will see I have parked on that street before and not until I have gotten onto Stonewall did I have any great view.   1st photo is the site of this outdoor brewery beer garden area right next to Savoy.  2nd photo is 550 Stonewall

Agreed on the "skyline" views, but overall this is a great use of basically a leftover and not very functional parcel of land. And the coffee shop by day and tap room by night is a nice use of that small retail spot in Savoy.  Better than a lunch spot that closes at 2.

Yes it will add great vitality to that area with apartments in every direction up and down Stonewall.   I forgot about that Japanese place leasing a spot there which will draw people down to that area.

That wood or wood looking material they used on the exterior is fantastic, wish there was a similar material used by Crescent on their property up the street on the freeway facing side.  Would make a huge difference and work well with the wanderwall.  Thanks for the pics KJ.

I think they will have some sort of free retail parking maybe on a validation but right now it is open.

^The only con when I walked by yesterday, to an otherwise pretty solid project, is right below that Now Leasing sign, is their gym.  In situations like this and at the Element, gyms are taking up valuable street fronting retail space.  A little disappointed in that, but overall, still has a ton of retail between Savoy and 550 and beyond.  That lot behind the Madison is going to be crucial with the feel and connection in that area some day.  I know someone mentioned that could be a future convention center expansion site.  Right now only one side of Stonewall gets action...hopefully the CC renovations spruces their side up a bit, bc between the CC and NHOF, that is a very long stretch of blah walking on that side.
