I was at the Fairgrounds early last month for the  Vintage Market Christmas Buying Frenzy Extravaganza Weekend and would not shut up to my wife about what could and hopefully would be after an MLS announcement....needless to say, her excitement was contained as she is not a soccer fan.

Can we all agree to hope that the neighborhood's imminent gentrification will not negatively impact Santa's Pub?

This morning SiriusXM's The Football Show had a segment with Nashville SC and former MLS exec Court Jeske.  The hosts could not stop gushing over Nashville....."wonderful place," "magnificent city" and "great, great, great, great town" were the phrases used.  As well, one host mentioned how fun Nashville was....citing  how crowded restaurants were while people were drinking from 11:00 am on throughout the day.

NSC2018 is the code for the presale for the Atlanta United match if anyone wants tickets, get them now because they are almost gone. The code is on the Atlanta United sub reddit so the few that remain will be gone probably by this afternoon.

I know I could google this, but just incase other people don't know, could someone tell me what the whole SC vs FC thing is?  Pretty sure SC means soccer club, which to me makes it sound like a intramural/recreation team.  Are they different leagues? Major vs minor league?  Will the same team playing at the baseball field be the one in the MLS stadium at the fairgrounds

SC = Soccer Club; FC = Football Club.  Nashville will begin play in the USL, United Soccer League in 2018; the USL along with NASL, North American Soccer League, are tier-two leagues below MLS, Major League Soccer.  An analogy would be the Nashville Sounds competing in Triple A Baseball compared to the Oakland A's in Major League Baseball.  NASL and USL may merge at some point in the future.

The same organization that will play at First Tennessee Park will play at the Fairgrounds, but with more highly skilled, highly paid players.

speaking of which, atlanta has done such a great job developing the city as a whole with regard to soccer. i'm super excited to see how the usl and mls will grow here!

The Metro Nashville Sports Authority approved a change to the Tennessee Titans' lease agreement Thursday morning that city and team leaders say is key to Nashville continuing its quest to become a host city for the 2026 World Cup.

The United Bid Committee, a joint effort between the United States, Mexico and Canada, included Nashville last fall on its short list of potential host cities for the massive event. FIFA, the international governing body of soccer, is expected to choose a host country this summer, with the final selection of host cities to come at a later date.

Landing a spot as a World Cup host city would be another boon for Nashville tourism, Metro COO Rich Riebeling and Nashville Convention and Visitors Corp. CEO Butch Spyridon told the authority's board Thursday. Nashville, which just cemented its "soccer city" status by landing a Major League Soccer expansion team, would likely host five or six games in June 2026, bringing international audiences and attention to Music City.

To move forward with the process, however, Metro, the Tennessee Titans and other involved parties must sign a set of binding agreements, including one committing the city's NFL team to make any necessary improvements required for Nissan Stadium to host World Cup soccer matches.

Hosting the World Cup would be similar to hosting The Super Bowl. Hope Nashville gets it.

Signing a commitment to improve Nissan Stadium is an interesting development. How extensive would any improvements be? I really thought we were going to start hearing plans for a replacement for Nissan Stadium in the next few years but maybe it has longer than I thought.

Seems very (intentionally) vague. Also I assume if there is a new stadium before 2026 then the point is moot as long as new stadium addresses needs of World Cup. This is just to button things up since they are awarded so early.

Had Qatar and Russia not been awarded (ahem paid for) the next two World Cups, Nashville would have been a host city sooner than 2026.

I got online to see about single tix, but could only open a window for the exhibition game - Atlanta vs Nashville, for which nothing appears to be available.
