Nashville SC and MLS that teams will begin play again after the Covid-19 shutdown on July 8th with a tournament as EXPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando.

Similar to a FIFA World Cup format, the tournament will feature a continuous schedule of matches nearly every day, with games beginning at 9 a.m., 8 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. EDT, according to the MLS.

Nashville SC will play three Eastern Conference opponents as part of the group stage and will look to earn one of the top two seeds to advance to the knockout round and compete for a spot in the 2021 Scotiabank Concacaf Champions League. A draw to determine the group and Nashville SC’s opponents will take place Thursday afternoon.

Nashville SC started play in the Western Conference, but was selected to switch conferences for both the tournament and the remainder of the 2020 MLS season due to its proximity to the Eastern Conference teams. League officials believe the switch maximizes efficiency and recovery time by minimizing team travel, which is critical given the compressed timeframe for the remainder of the season.

They had at the very bottom of the registration confirmation email that they will email instructions day of. I missed it the first time I looked through.

They think there is not enough room for the flea market and the racetrack, and both will eventually be pushed out. So, in best case the demolished buildings will be left as parking lots for those events.

It's exciting to see progress being made on the Stadium construction. I saw that Hastings Architecture is promoting the stadium design on their website portfolio and  wondered why. I thought POPULOUS was the chief architect on this project. I wonder who has what role in the project development.  Apparently, POPULOUS prepared the contract documents.....

Also, the Hastings web brochure for the project does also state (paraphrasing here) that the stadium will be significantly visible from I-65 as you enter the city. I guess I had never realized that.

Hastings may be architect of record, Populous has done that on some other projects across the country.

This headline should barely even be news, in my opinion, but SOF will claim huge victory. This verdict is on the "proper notice" for contract bidding. The charter trial, to be heard in August, is the bigger case.

“According to court documents, the contract in issue will not have to be rebid. Instead the penalty under the Act in this case is a "redo." The Metro Sports Authority will have to reschedule a meeting, provide adequate public notice and conduct another vote on whether to approve the contract.”
