Has there been any more movement on the racetrack improvements?  Would be nice to have a first rate MLS stadium and first rate NASCAR track on the same property.  Of course, I still don’t quite understand what’s going to happen between Dover, Bristol and the two tracks in Nashville (Fairgrounds and Superspeedway)

FIFA, the international governors of Soccer (football  as it's called in the rest of the world) and the World Cup Championship held every four years, has created a website dedicated to news and information about the 2026 World Cup which will be held in various cities throughout the USA, Canada and Mexico. Although there are quite a few nominations for host cities (Nashville included, of course) there have been no official selections. Workshops were held with candidate cities as reported on the website...

The FIFA World Cup 2026™, which will be the first to feature 48 teams and 80 matches, moved a step closer today as FIFA completed a series of three workshops with the host associations and their respective candidate host cities. Confirming the high level of interest sparked by the FIFA World Cup across the three host nations, today’s interactive online workshop gathered all 17 candidate host cities from the USA and followed on from meetings with all Mexican and Canadian candidate host cities held earlier this year in Mexico City and Toronto, respectively.

Representatives from the following 23 candidate host cities attended the workshops:

Canada: Edmonton, Montreal, Toronto

Mexico: Guadalajara, Mexico City, Monterrey

USA: Atlanta, Baltimore, Boston, Cincinnati, Dallas, Denver, Houston, Kansas City, Los Angeles, Miami, Nashville, New York/New Jersey, Orlando, Philadelphia, San Francisco Bay Area, Seattle and Washington D. C.

There's not much news, but there are some interesting comments about what Nashville brings to the total experience table with all of our entertainment options. And I like the photo they use...

I very muck like our chances of hosting some games. What we lack in size, we make up in entertainment.  We may jump over a few cities on the candidate list that will surprise some people.

In my opinion, if the games are going to be played in the city's NFL stadiums, Boston/Kansas City/Orlando/SanFran have stadiums so far outside the city core that the Titans stadium next to Broadway becomes very attractive to prospective fans.

It's in the article. About a coyote that was removed to the wild. But then came back to the 'big city' and was found at the construction site of the new stadium.

I will have info about mixed use portion of MLS project forthcoming.  Also a rendering, however basic. Its just late and dont feel like doing the work right now.

This is the best and only rendering of the buildings. It is on monochrome as materials have not been selected. Construction to start by summer.

 

Also cranes to be up at MLS stadium by mid month and steel up by months end with canopy completed by May or June.

No crane base or tower crane for the stadium construction, all mobile cranes will be used. Same case for our Crew stadium up here in Columbus.

Most of the time with stadium construction, it is mobile ground cranes. The canopy of the stadium will be complete by May or June according to the Fair Board, so you should  start seeing this baby pokeup out of the ground and make a statement soon.

Yeah, a coyote found it's way into the Music City Center a couple of years ago and Officer Brenna Hosey helped get him out. 
 

Here's the original story from the Tennessean.  Poor coyote looks so ashamed .  He/she(?) knows they done messed up .

Since it is associated with the stadium we'll put this here: Fairgrounds Plaza will be the name of the $80 million mixed-use development that Nashville SC will be involved with.  Some details:

- Six buildings (some as tall as 6 stories)

- Initial Block A Building: 337 residential units (160 a below market/workforce housing) and 20,000  sq. ft. of retail

- No word on amount of office space and retail in other structures

- No word on hotel yet

- Construction to start by summer

- Completion 4th quarter of 2023

- Smith Gee Studio is architect

- No contractor announced yet
