Went for a little stroll, Monday.

One of the Park Commons buildings is close to topped out along with a large parking garage. The other buildings have apparently not started construction.

 

And for context...the rising building is highlighted in yellow. The garage would be just out of this picture to the left.

The U.S. men’s national soccer team will make its first trip to Geodis Park on Oct. 17, taking on Ghana in a friendly to prepare for quarterfinal matches in the CONCACAF Nations League the following month.

The game, which comes three days after the U.S. plays a friendly against Germany in New York, will start at 7:30 p.m. and be available on Warner Bros. Discovery platforms, Universo and Peacock.

I never thought I would see the day a soccer match in Nashville would command thousands of dollars for a ticket.

Yup, like Paul said, it's 100% the Messi effect.  Okay, maybe 2% the fact that it's a cup final, but mostly Messi.  It sucks because from what I understand, Nashville SC/Geodis Park has extremely limited control over the ticket prices.  They're set by MLS/The League Cup itself.  So my worry is that even though the match takes place on Nashville's home pitch, that it will very much be a Miami home pitch atmosphere, because it will be populated mostly by rich bro Miami Messi player fans who fly in on their corporate jets and care more about being seen at the hot ticket of the moment than they do the game itself.   It is what it is, I guess.

But at those prices I wouldn't fault them for selling and paying for their next seasons tickets!

Season ticket holders could buy up to 6 tickets before the general public. They bought up a ton and are reselling.

Sorry, I do not care who or what the ticket is for, rather it be for sports or a concert, I will not pay into thousands much less into the hundreds of dollars for anything. If anyone does, they are as PT Barnum say a "Sucker" and it seems more than their fair share are being born every monte these days.

I am fine watching it from home. I will just pause it and as for a concert who the hell cares anymore. The folks getting the high dollars for concerts are Taylor and Beyoncé and I would not give you 2 cents for any of their music. I would rather watch cat videos as they are more entertaining.

If I could have been in Knoxville for the Bama game last year, oh man… I was in Neyland in 2016, when we beat Florida that was a spiritual experience

What if it's the inverse? I've been a Preds STH for almost 20 years. Obviously didn't pay the amounts being talked about here for our SCF Run tickets but I could have sold them for a fortune. No one can ever convince me that the memories in my head are worth less than the thousands I could have gotten for those tickets.

Anyway, I'd like to go to the soccer match tomorrow night but have more important things to do... QOTSA are playing Ascend!

Say what you will about the ticket prices... the people there right now are getting an unbelievable show!  This is one of the best matches I have seen in a LONG time in any worldwide soccer league.  Tied 1-1 going to penalties now....

UPDATE:  Well... the boys came up just short, which is a cliche', but in this case, it truly fits.  They lost by the slimmest of margins and took this Miami team that was bought instead of built, filled with global soccer superstars, to the absolute brink, and I couldn't be prouder of not only them, but for the fans in Nashville who came out in FORCE and were active and loud all match long and really made the city look amazing.  We'll get em' next time!  The upside is that, although we missed out on the trophy, because we were the runners-up we still get automatic qualification into the far more prestigious CONCACAF Champions League tournament next year.

We have a ton to be proud of, Nashville really was the better team for the vast majority of that game. Credit to their goalie and of course, Messi, for that insane goal. I unfortunately could not afford tickets, but the atmosphere was electric even on TV. This stands out to me as as one of the most exciting sporting events that this city has ever hosted.
