More blasting underway.  Thick limestone to get through.

We have been hearing and feeling these blasts in our office of Cummins. Took forever to figure out where they were coming from.

New renderings have been posted. And a green element has been added to the facade of the corner hotel (1 Hotel).

"the team is now proposing modifications to the project — specifically, the 1 Hotel component — to feature multiple environmentally friendly elements. It has enlisted Connecticut-based AgroScience Inc. to assist with a landscaped green wall feature that will be part of the exterior, according to the documents the city now has."

Very nice! I like the different setbacks. Makes it all appear like an organically developed city block.

^^I love that so much.  I really like how all 3 structures will be distinctly different...but blend well and address the street well (Hotel 1, Cambria, Embassy Suites)

Wow, that's actually an upgrade from the Curio! Also, consider me really excited for the green wall since that is a design feature that is so often value engineered out of new projects.

To be a bit of a downer on this project, individually all 3 brands could make fantastic statements if only one was being built on this site. When you do 3 at a time, you seem to get "lite" versions of each.  I'll point to the Marriott tri-brand as an example. I was very underwhelmed with the public spaces, for all 3, when I was visiting a friend staying at the hotel. My friend was also disappointed saying he'd just stay at the JW next time. Maybe this will be different.

I'm curious too. 

To be sure, it's only 2 brands here, right? And the Embassy Suites is known for their standard atrium design, although several I've seen built in the past couple of years don't have the atrium. BTW if you're a light sleeper and have the front room, those atria can be annoying as heck.

Not sure, but I think the One Hotel is supposed to be more upscale than the others on the block.  I'd be surprised if they share any public spaces between them. 

This pair of hotels look distinctly different from the all-in-one-box Marriott tri-brands.

There are (two) 1 Hotels in New York (Manhattan and Brooklyn). Nashville's 1 Hotel is clearly taking off from the Manhattan design.

I don't think people realize how great this is for Nashville.

I've eaten in the Manhattan location, and have stayed twice in the brooklyn location. The rooms in the Brooklyn location were modern and incredibly nice, with a superb lobby and excellent rooftop bar.

I've stayed in some newer Embassy Suites and they seem to have ditched the large atrium design.

No cam that I know of yet. I snapped the photo on my walk and sent to William so he could tweet it. Look as if they are going deeper on the hole for the One Hotel, so that crane will be a while longer before it is in place.
