Down to 25' in depth in spots now.  Lots of blasting continues.

Lots of rock to blast through and dig out. Down to 30 ft. of depth on east end, about 15 ft. on west end.

Foundational walls starting to appear under the Embassy Suites portion (east end), as it has reached it’s depth of around 30 feet. Blasting/dig-out continues on west end for 1 Hotel.

Because of all the blasting (primarily this site) Cummins has been having some of its brick facade fall off the building. The facilities team has been busy putting up protection on the garden level side of the building. They have sensors monitoring the building for continued monitoring.

Base in place for crane #2 for the 1 Hotel.  All excavation  seemingly complete.

And to think how long we waited after the announcement while the site sat there for so long. 

Over 700 (215+506) hotel rooms among 48 floors (18+30) between the two buildings... wow!

The view of downtown from the "lips" of J W Marriott's Bourbon Steakhouse is fabulous.  But the cranes in the foreground hint that the view will definitely be affected when the Embassy Suites hotel is topped out.

From the JW Marriott

Wow that site is the coolest night-lit skyscraper site that I've seen.

Impressive that they'e fitting two high rises there.  This is going to be so dense. And right across (diagonally) from the huge JW Marriott? This project will really scoot the the center of Nashville density a bit to this side of town with yet another urban canyon starting to develop.
