Eventually both of those blocks will be properly activated.   I know that the Preds long term plans for the arena include much better usage of the strip that faces Demonbreun between 6th and 5th.  And, when First Baptist eventually  sells/leases that massive back lot between 6th and 7t, any developer would be nuts not to feed off the energy in foot traffic along that stretch.  But we must be patient...Rome wasn't built in a day (and honestly, downtown Nashville is being re-built much more quickly than just about anywhere else in North America).

Embassy Suites now fully at ground level along Demonbreun and 7th Ave. South.  1 Hotel's underground garage has 2nd level nearly complete.

And I recall for the longest time we feared this project would never get going.  Now we get an 18 story and a 30 story mega project!

Man what a premium spot for this hotel complex. Directly across the street from the convention center. 

The JW and Westin are on the 'side' of the center, where as this is site better situated opposite the front of the center.  

Will be interesting to see what happens to the spot between the Embassy/Cambria block and the Bridgestone Center.  That seems like the most prime spot of them all.

Cannot wait for this one to start speeding up a little.  Just looking at the awesome pictures provided and it has only went from street level to about 2 floors above in 2 months.

This morning? 

Damn!  East Nashville has been hit by so many tornadoes over the decades!!  Curious... is there a clear path that the tornado took?  From the pics and news reports, it looks to have swept due eastward over Jefferson Street, and across to the old hotels north of Nissan Stadium... then to Fifth & Main... and into the heart of East Nashville... did it skip over buildings or did it stay on the ground for a while?
