The exterior of 1 Hotel is going to be covered in 10-15’ flowing ivy on the lobby level, which should really add some life to all this glass and cement. A friend of mine is in charge of the greenhouses that are supplying all the plants for this hotel. The rooms themselves are to be filled with all sorts of tropical plants as well. I’m excited to see how it comes together.

I really hope all the ivy "works". I just question it, with our weather.

Any idea when they will begin placing the greenery on the exterior?

It will work if they choose the right species.  Poison Ivy seems to grow well here with minimal maintenance.

This project is winding up looking really good. Great building, aesthetically. It does seem like it took a while to finally build, but glad they did finish, with COVID delays and all. Nice looking overall--adds good density to that part of downtown.
