301 Hillsborough by my count is about 2 floors until topping out plus or minus 1.   in another news Pendo Software was named on the best companies to work I read that somewhere today.

anyway here is the tower today from several angles looking good on the skyline.  Tallest building under construction downtown today and I hope others even taller get going soon.

Great shots!  I'm surprised they haven't started on the cladding yet. No windows at all? Curious, for almost topping out.

Good point because they've been aggressive with cladding the new one at North Hills as it grows.

They have started the exterior glazing system. You can see it in a couple of the above pics.

Is it common in commercial real estate in this area to cash out like that halfway through construction?  Is this just a financial risk spreading measure?

It is more of long term note vs. construction financing.  Yes it happens all the time.

drive bys today.  This has made an impact on the skyline especially coming down Capital Blvd. and even Wake Forest Rd north of 440. 

Now if we can get a few more at least this tall around downtown.

^^ I am assuming this is now topped off.  Just imagine a building 2x as tall which several developers have the zoning for now.
