Light fixture at AT&T Buidling plaza x.JPG

Pretty solid looking and built to last.     This design would not invite inebriated late night vandals to try to break it with a karate kick.    (reference to discussion of flimsy KVB roundabout fixtures on other thread)

The City of Hendersonville invites the community to witness the unveiling of the Memorial Park Mosaics, Hendersonville's newest and largest public art installation, on Sept. 13 from 5:30-7:30 p.m.

Over the past year, local artists Yvette Renée and Mark Cowden of Diamond Studios have created 24 large mosaic designs on the walls at Memorial Park with the help of organizations, schools and residents of Sumner County.

The installation consists of 1,270 square feet of stained glass and mixed media mosaic designs and is estimated to be the largest public art project of its kind in Middle Tennessee. These walls will be on permanent display at the park, located at 151 E. Main Street in Hendersonville.

Throughout the spring, summer and fall of 2017, Diamond Studio worked with Borderless Arts Tennessee to provide opportunities for approximately 500 children and adults, with and without disabilities, to participate in the creation of mosaics. Borderless Arts Tennessee is an organization that provides opportunities for people with disabilities to participate in and express themselves through the arts and arts education.

The companion piece to this which was installed recently, has a similar aspect as it picks up light from the surrounding area and sky and bounces it around reflective surfaces on the piece and presents different looks at different hours and days.
