I hope they get rid of it as soon as possible, so tacky. The "fence" is literally made of pallet boards that are just sort of hastily placed next to each other.

No way I would sit in the middle of a busy intersection with stupid drivers around me. All it takes is a wreck and one out of control car and you have a disaster on your hands. Sorry Mark Cleveland, this is a bad idea! Not to mention the drunk people staggering out into traffic from the beach.

This building was announced 5 years ago. It wouldn't surprise me if this beach is here permanently.

Also, and I just now noticed this, but it looks like they put the pallet fence up and then painted them. There is overspray all over the ground. So tacky

The plans for The Stanza POD Hotel is still a possibility, as well as a new vision of workforce housing for land owner/developer Mark Cleveland:

“I honestly don’t know what will get built, but the Stanza concept is still on the table,” Cleveland, who Metro records show paid $55,000 for the property in 2008. “I had several meetings recently with new investors familiar with Nashville, and it looks like the pandemic freeze might be thawing.”

“I'm exploring workforce housing, which is turning out to be the [likely] lead use,” he said. “I think it's what Nashville needs more than another hotel.”

Mark Cleveland has scrapped his plans for the Stanza hotel on the tiny lot, and is now listing the 5,000 sq. ft. site for $2.4 million.  He is hoping that he still might be part of a future ownership group that can reinvent the site with a workforce housing structure.

In July 2021, Cleveland announced he had created Little Chill Beach on the diminutive lot — filled since then with sand and surrounded by an aqua fence — bordered by Lafayette Street, Ash/Division streets and Fourth Avenue South.

Cleveland said potential buyers have expressed interest in reinventing the site with a boutique hotel, a bar or a workforce housing building. His hope is the latter option.

Disappointed (albeit not at all surprised) that this won't come to fruition as I thought it was a very creative and efficient usage of an obscurely shaped and located lot.  Hopefully someone else who is willing to take a chance steps up to the plate.

Not to sound mean..... Little Chill Beach s*cked. The only thing correct in the name was 'Little'. Most def not a chill location, nor was it beachy, LOL. Maybe 'Little Urban (Scary) Sandbox'. Glad he's selling. MUCH better chance of developing the property with new ownership.  Onwards and upwards... Rock on.
