Thinking about it, I’m sure closing in a stadium comes with all kinds of added HVAC requirements too. 
 

Something like they had in Ancient Rome on the coliseum would be cool. Retractable sun shades just made of fabric/cloth. To block that hot ass August/September sun would be nice.

TSU is undergoing a stadium evaluation to determine the feasibility of building a new on-campus stadium or renovating and adding onto the existing Hale Stadium.  In the short-term a decision was made to play all home games at Nissan until one of those solutions is implemented.  So, for the next 2-3 years it appears that TSU will continue to play at Nissan.   

TSU fans are starting to shift towards wanting to return football to the campus.  However there is divide on returning to a renovated Hale Stadium versus a new stadium.  Many just don't think Hale Stadium can be renovated sufficiently to make it appealing.  However, most people don't have a clue as to what can be done to renovate an existing stadium structure.  I do recall several years ago that a study determined that adding an upper deck to the home side of Hale Stadium was not possible because the foundation footings are not large enough to support the additional weight.  However, an addition can be built behind the home side to increase the height so long as it does not tie into the existing structure for support.  The same could be done for the visitor side of the stadium.  Around 2011 there was a video of a conceptual stadium design that I believe TSU would strongly consider if they decide to go with either option to build new or renovate.  That design increased the existing foot print by adding height to each side and enclosing the stadium on both ends.  While no seating capacity was stated with the design, TSU has stated over the years they would want a stadium with a capacity between 20K and 30K.

One thing TSU will have to consider as the city moves forward with plans to develop the East Bank that includes eliminating several of the parking lots for Nissan is the loss in revenue from parking and tailgating.  TSU currently receives 100% of parking and tailgating revenue.  If the large east side parking lot is eliminated as planned, that will hit TSU's game day revenue really hard as that is the lot used the most for TSU games.   So, I hope they are factoring in the cities plans for the East Bank as they evaluate stadium options.

I just think that college football games should be played on campus. Hopefully that's how TSU sees it.

Why segregate by gender?  The police and military intermix their staff.  i.e. there's no 'Women's Marines division' or Male Police group.  They all get paid the same too, despite gender.  So, females are in the Army and in the Sheriff's departments, and get paid the same as men. 

But a ball team can't find a way to make this work?

OK, folks----let's calm down on all  the hysterics about the game--at least on THIS thread, which is about development of sports facilities. I started a thread in The Coffeehouse about the game if you would like to vent over there.

True, this is a coffee house discussion. As we have discussed as mods many times before, if you guys want an active Coffee House you have to go and participate there on an active basis, start the threads and keep them alive, and keep it civil.

Too many threads over on this side end up getting hijacked and off topic.

Tried this place out on Saturday and had lots of fun.............Tee Line............west side of town off Robertson Rd.   Am sure this has been posted on a thread somewhere on UP.    They offer Curling lessons (which was very helpful), have a good selection of beer (also very helpful) and food......and also have a 4 lane bowling alley.   They did a good job with building this place and i plan on going back soon.

A group of friends and I went a couple months back (I think grand opening weekend maybe) and had an absolute blast! They also offer adult curling leagues there too

The Sports Authority Board voted unanimously on Thursday to accept CAA Icon market-study recommendations that outline existing interest among residents and corporations and suggest future steps for attracting a professional women's sports team to Nashville.

Next, they will search for a good group of potential owners.

The key takeaway is that women’s soccer and basketball leagues have the biggest existing fan base, though the consultants recommended focusing on soccer.

The NHL expects a crowd of more than 70,000 to pack Nissan Stadium on the 26th, putting Nashville in position to possibly break the NHL Stadium Series attendance record held by the 2015 game between the Los Angeles Kings and San Jose Sharks, which had a crowd of 70,205.

“We’ve had the [Stanley Cup] Finals here, we’ve had an All-Star Game here, we’ve had a lot of cool events to really raise the energy level around hockey and build our fanbase, and it’s at a tremendous level now,” the Predators' Colton Sissons said. “This is kind of the next step, another feather in the Nashville hockey cap.”
