BTW Check out the site at the bottom. The development is pretty cool, it's huge 8,800 acres! Has a pretty cool town square feature.

Developer gives freeway overpass to state

Mike Padgett

The Business Journal

The state of Arizona has a new interchange on Interstate 10 west of Phoenix, and the $10.8 million construction project didn't cost taxpayers a penny.

The four-lane overpass at about 207th Avenue and I-10 was financed, designed and constructed by DMB Associates to serve its newest community, Verrado, an 8,800-acre community on the north side of I-10 and at the southeast tip of the White Tank Mountains.

The overpass includes pedestrian walkways, custom street lamps and traffic lights. When the town of Buckeye connects the interchange to Airport Road to the south, the interchange will provide direct access to downtown Buckeye.

When DMB finished the overpass recently, it turned it over to the Arizona Department of Transportation.

Verrado is planned on property that has been annexed by Buckeye. DMB is overseeing construction of Verrado's town center, and the development's first models are planned for opening in early 2004.
