New renderings for Phase I and they are quite handsome. The two buildings will be 7 stories each, with an alley running between them. An early 2020 completion is expected.

The 723 Second Ave. South building will span about 126,000 square feet and include 105 apartment units, a fitness center and an amenities deck. Looking NW from the intersection of 2nd Ave. South (on right) and Ash St. (on left):

The 700 Third Ave South building, to span about 243,000 square feet, will include 166 apartments and an amenities deck with a pool. It will also offer bar and restaurant Goat, an LC product the company offers in its LC Germantown development now open. So I count 271 total units in Phase 1. I guess their original 432 unit number was off?

I really hope attention is paid to the alley between the buildings. Otherwise, it will be a dark and dismal place

My guess is the alley is almost a non issue with them. They may build a skybridge over it, however they could do something like they did at Peyton Stakes and have a small retail space in the alley. But that is a different company. The retail potion of this building will address 3rd and Elm and will be a Goat Tavern or what ever the name of their bar is .

It’s kind of hard to tell in this picture but it looks like some support beams and maybe an elevator shaft are starting to rise a bit.

That actually seems to be a bit dated. I walk past this a lot and I think in some spots they’re already to the second floor.

They have pulled over 24 million in permits over the last few week and these include the shell permits. This one should rise quickly.

Given the proximity to the Division Street extension and the 2nd/4th exits on I-40, this is an excellent location. And the architecture looks historical and classy! Wish we could get the height restrictions lifted.
