Thanks for the email reminder and or course the postings.  It looks like ECU's campus development seems to be going deeper into the downtown core of Greenville which is great.  Stimulates retail, commercial, and hopefully non traditional student housing options!

Elizabeth City and nearby Dismal Swamp State Park just 3 miles south of VA border. Town of Hertford in Perquimmans county.  Dismal Swamp has 28 miles of biking and hiking trails and like most NC parks is free to visit.1st photo of the controversial windmills near EC   I like visiting small towns in NC. Breath of fresh air from the big cities. First town photos are Elizabeth City last 3 photos are Hertford NC

Small town of Belhaven NC on Pungo River is home to a great farm to fork restaurant called Spoon River Market.  People come from 50-100 miles to dine there (as I did with my friends from Greenville) Nearby towns are interesting too Washington and of course Bath.

These are super views of a corner of NC that many never see or think of. Thank you. My visits to E City and Hertford and Edenton are still fresh in memory and never to be forgotten. Edenton especially with the cupola house, oldest house in NC, Old jail in use for 200 years courthouse, womens tea rebellion in Revolution just so much.

Just back from Greenville NC and it is booming with new apartment growth, retail etc.  Some photos from this week.  Large apartment complexes near downtown and in downtown that look like the ones in Charlotte or Raleigh.

Kind of wish the city would have channeled some of that growth to a more urban plan.  Downtown is still that of a small town and the surrounding area is a sprawling mess.
