Very sad.  The trade mark building on the other block near here, a furman project, was also eifis system. I remember the snow walking by that site too.

i can’t believe high rise buildings are allowed to use this stuff.

People are really starting to notice the styrofoam and they're pissed. GB better figure out how to fix this or mitigate it better before it becomes a major news story. Several of redditors are contacting news, EPA, and NCDNR.

The more people that can bring this problem to the attention of  the ones who approve large projects, the better. Not a fan of EIFS. Perhaps enough people complaining might make for some stiffer restrictions on future project. However I doubt it, since building economically is the ultimate issue in whether a project is built or not. 

 I guess (like most) I am just a fan of better grade exterior materials (especially in High Rise Construction in Uptown). The Classics are timeless for a reason,.

I watched a friend with pretty intimate construction knowledge describe JE Dunn literally shaving the EIFS off this building. They should expect a massive fine from the EPA.
