Grand Bohemian Hotel – 15 Floors – 254 Rooms – Boutique Hotel

Update from the GM says the hotel is confident in a July 2 opening date. He also says there are still some material delays, but they should arrive before then.  I also have a video of the interior I’ll try and share later today. The hotel is stunning.

"The Garden" by Jerry Peart is currently in the possession and custody of The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Arts and Science Council (ASC).   Not sure where ASC intends to reinstall this magnificent sculpture. 

"The Garden" by Jerry Peart and Richard Hunt's sculpture "Spiral Odyssey" in Romare Bearden Park, arguably,  are the two finest works of Modern sculpture in Charlotte.

I would love to see the Garden find a hold in front of Legacy Union. I have some friends at ASC, I'll find out where its going.

Update: "The Garden" is owned by Carillon not ASC. ASC is not sure what the plans are for The Garden.

Drive by today and I like this hotel because it is different for Charlotte architecturally.   I may not be out in Vegas anytime soon but at least we have the taste of that here.   (and that is a serious statement)

This does look nice, but hopefully the surface lot behind it doesn't take too long to develop because the back side of this is hideous.

There was a filigree around the top of the revolving door on the corner of Church and Trade that was half way put on for several weeks, it has now been removed.  For good???

Its owned by First Citizens and I don't anticipate that changing anytime soon. They have no plans to develop it at this time.
