Fuquay Varina - Proposed downtown mixed use project

Recommended Posts

If you click on the google map link you can see the outlines of where future streets will go. Spring St (not ave) will split going north and connect to West and Depot. Vance will continue west to connect first to the new, extended Spring St, then to Woodland. I know its all super rural feeling there now even thoughts only a few hundred yards from downtown but it could easily because part of a larger commercial and/or mixed use core.

So I found the website for the townhomes in downtown fuquay. I am happy because they are all brick...but a bit bland. Still...these are a game changer for my neighborhood.

The renderings of course do not use the actual backdrop...the lot looks nothing like that. There are trees and I have trouble imagining how 15 townhomes will fit on a small part. But at three stories...maybe.

You are a better sleuth than I am. I actually think they look pretty good. They have corbeling along the cornice which gives them a slightly Italianate appearance. My only gripe is I think they should all front a street...but at least some of them do and the more they fit in, the more dense downtown becomes. At that price point, I think they'll sell pretty well...which should convince other developers to do similar projects.
