Groundbreaking for Ocoee’s new City Hall will be next Thursday at 10am. It’s part of the city’s historic redevelopment plan (imagine that - they care about their history while we’re bulldozing ours):

Your garden must not be dull during winter seasons. Snow and cold temperature must not be a hindrance for you to manage your garden. You might not like the idea of tending and nurturing your plants as temperature drops down. Starting a winter garden is not that hard if you want to break the dull surroundings brought about by winter. You may also come up with great ideas to make a beautiful garden despite the season's cold chilly nights.

Mixed-use development proposed for Winter Garden, and better looking than most proposals for Orlando lately:

Although I don’t think that med revival is complementary to the WG aesthetic.

Wow, that is unusual. I wonder how that slipped through without some vetting.

@prahaboheme, can you tell if it’s east or west of Dillard St. I don’t have access.

It’s west of Dillard. I think 2 blocks west.

Awesome. Thanks! I’m glad they’re getting more multi family going close to downtown - hopefully 38 units won’t blow away the scale of the neighborhood since they’re studios. Ever since Doug Guetzloe torpedoed the Ropers’ townhome project on the old Thriftway lot, it’s been sort of no-go.

Winter Garden is still awfully Republican but they’ve run circles around Buddy and company on making a user-friendly walkable/bikeable downtown. There’s a grassroots energy and sense of possibilities I haven’t seen in downtown Orlando in ages.

@Tim3167 and the other folks in Oakland have received their Tree, USA designation for the 18th year. Best of all, they’ve gone far beyond the minimum standards required:

SAVE THE TREES! Great job, Oaklanders.
