^ Exactly. the abortion ban is usually supported by conservatives but no particular political affiliation really and from what I see are a very small portion of the population.

All this talk about ‘murder’ and the life of a fetus…yet they don’t offer solutions to helping children, improving their quality of life, safety, and wellbeing. They fail to eliminate or ease the strain children cause their guardians and that strain that the children themselves sustain from the harsh economics of raising a child let alone more than one. This is another case where religion is used to justify state action where there shouldn’t. I am enraged how they will ban abortion and thereby eliminate bodily autonomy. (A pregnancy which can be a beautiful thing when it is desired and the “host” — yes a pregnancy is a parasitic relationship in many aspects — makes the decision to carry the fetus to term). When not desired it can create problems and eliminating that decision in my opinion violates the bodily autonomy of another individual. A pregnancy is like a person giving life sustaining blood transfusion to another person who relies on that process to stay alive. No one in that situation would be forced to remain there as a life line so why is a pregnancy any different. Abortions are also not uniquely human, many species also perform this act when they or the environment deem it necessary. This of course isn’t an easy decision for many and women remember the process and the pregnancy well. It isn’t taken as lightly and in the evil light those opposed paint it as. Yet while the rights to autonomy is violated, guns specifically semiautomatic guns that are frankly unnecessary maintain status as a 2nd amendment right. Children died and many more emotionally and mentally scarred for life and they say abortion is a problem. The children already born are suffering from so many hardships that are yet to be solved and they’re thinking of the unborn…well not really. They’re thinking about control and an opinion opposed to theirs is to be squashed. They’ll preach freedom and Their rights!! That is…unless you are not one who agree with them…makes me red in the face from how ignorant and disingenuous these people are to your face.

If they really cared about children they’d keep the same energy. Save the children already born, improve the foster/adoption system, ensure no children go hungry, improve and fund the education system, better parental leave so that the infants born can better connect with their parents on a personal level, cheaper daycare at least so that when parents have to work to pay for not only themselves but the dependent child(ren) they are responsible for since their choice was stripped. Ban deadly weapons from the public or restrict access with much training and licensure. At least then I would believe their “noble” cause of pro-life.

Anyways- just another day of frustration with people and their decisions in politics that I felt like typing it out.

I wasn't referring to just the abortion ruling but also the second amendment and miranda right ones. All of those issues tend to swing liberal or conservative depending on what side of the fence you're on. Oh and it's funny seeing members of Congress who approved these new justices now screaming mad. LOL. What did they honestly think was going to happen?

Some comment about some areas of Québec with no access and mention of the anti abortion pregnancy counseling centers. A MAGA terrorist shot up a 4th of July Parade from a rooftop in one of the most affluent (and most Jewish) towns in Illinois (probably all of the Midwest). Highland Park is 20 miles north of Wrigley Field, in a different county with different law enforcement than Chicago. I am not sure the usual reflexive politically-motivated criticism of Chicago applies to this particular tragedy.

All 8 of North Carolina’s GOP House Representatives voted against interracial & same-sex marriage equality yesterday. 

Hopefully the senate passes the bill or there’s a real possibility the court overturns marriage equality and NC could start banning the types of people who can be married.

Interesting that only two NC cities wind up on the list at all. Monroe at #75 and Fayetteville at #91.  Based on this, Charlotte, NC Crime Rates and Statistics - NeighborhoodScout Charlotte's 8.06/1000 for violent crime and a 1 in 116 chance of experiencing violent crime.

True. But I think “Charlotte” has sort of an image problem among certain portions of Charlotteans (South Charlotte/Ballantyne) and other North Carolinians. Notably, as demonstrated by the crime graph below.
