It would be cool if they would put one of those new Taco Bell Cantina on the first floor.  Would be a good location for one, considering there would have previously been a Taco Bell on the site.

Groundbreaking is set for June according to this blurb in The Post, so Taco Bell should be coming down in the next several months. Hotel to be opened by 4th quarter of 2019:

Agreed! No reason to have 1-story tacky buildings and unused lots on a main artery of the city. However I will really miss that Taco Bell being nearby

But the Board of Zoning Appeals did approve of a reduction, didn't they?

By the way, if you took Nashville's Midtown and plopped down in, say, Salina Kansas, it would be an impressive, important city in it's on right with maybe the best skyline in the state. It is basically a second downtown.

Exciting! As an unashamed Taco Bell fan, t's a bummer that this comes at the loss of a TB. We have enough overpriced, overhyped taco joints in this town. As @21jump suggested, maybe TB will open one of its Cantina locations on the ground floor.

I feel lucky being in a place like Chicago where the best tacos are usually the cheapest and can be found in one of the hundreds of authentic taquerias all over the city.  I'm assuming there are some good authentic taquerias in Nashville, but you'd probably have to drive all the way to Nolensville Road, right?

Even Chattanooga has very good Taquerias. Go to one on Lee Hwy at least 2-3 times per months. I blame them for my not having washboard abs.

nashville has loads of great taco joints. also, las fogatas waaaaaay down south at demonbreun x old hickory is as authentic a mexican restaurant as you'll find in the metro.

I think most cities in the US have great Mexican food. Of all ethnic foods it’s probably the easiest to find great quality, due to the tens of thousands of Mexicans who live in each US city. And thank God for it!

My number one hidden gem is San Luis Tacqueria on Harding Place at I-24.

Otherwise known as the place with the massive meat-smoker blazing full speed 23 hours a day haha. I literally don’t think I’ve ever passed that area when they’re not smoking meat. I predict that the number one cause of death in the area is from breathing too much pork fat smoke, number two would be heart disease from their delicious tacos.
