They've managed to keep this site so hard to get decent pictures of, I wish they had put window grates on the other side of the shipping container walkway to look in!

There’s basically six months until the RNC.  How many floors will have likely risen by then?  I hope at least ten.

Its build to suit, vs. spec, so really theres no reason for them to push anything extra out. They might at some point, but I wouldn't expect it before some sort of real milestone happens, like a topping out. 

Frankly if I were Duke, always mired with coal ash and rate hikes, it would behoove them to build this quietly. 

I'd ask, but I'm sort of staying clear of CRE types, as I imagine everyone is just spending their time talking to tenants who can't pay rent or are looking to force majeure

Basically what TR said.  I was told they had more, but were keeping them close to the chest even before 'this whole thing' happened.

this tower is going to be great and will exceed our expectations since we really don't have too much information but a couple of renderings.  and I agree with Senor Ricardo that being a regulated utility that is fully leasing the building has no  real reason to say look at me. Nothing to really to lease except some retail space.

A relative of mind who is Kind of a Big Deal^TM  at Duke tells me the new power tower won't be scrapped, but that they're looking to significantly downsize the size of the building given what they're learning from telecommuting as the result of the pandemic.  Expect this to be scaled back to something closer to twenty stories in the shape of a boring glass box.

BTW, it could have been worse: there was serious discussion about whether or not to keep a glass facade or to engage in something resembling the exposed steel beam lattice designed used  prominently in Chicago, that way it would still be an "iconic" building Uptown; apparently there's no accounting for taste.
