I took this photo today from future station track 1 at Gateway Station.

I didn't realize that the sloped roof consists of what appear to be pre-formed pieces that are lifted into place.  It seems that apart from adding the glass, the sloped roof will be built quickly.

The juxtaposition of Clt's photo with the rendering is in interesting.  I hope that the glass goes up soon.

I've always seen potential for a couple retail spots on the Westin. All of that dreadful looking outdoor seating in the front facing Stonewall could be transformed into some great retail spots on what is now the largest hotel in the city.

I disagree, but everyone has their opinions...

The building has been value engineered and that's never good for architecture. But hooray, we have another bland skyscraper.

It was value engineered from it’s original design which is unfortunate. However, it is no different than the latest renderings. I think it’s best to make judgement when the buildings are actually finished. I was thoroughly disappointed in Ally’s crown, after it was completed. This building has never been extravagant. It’s a sleek, glass tower that will give us more interesting lighting at night time, with some good height too.

Structurally yes, The glass will not be completely flush to the steel though.

I gotta wait to see the finished product but I'm not thrilled with the overall design of the building. The proportions seem odd, a bit similar to the stumpiness of LU1. I  guess I'm just craving some more awe-inspiring architecture in Charlotte.
