Honestly I think it is a fitting look for them..... they don't bury power lines..... so they should have to look at the equivalent all day on their ceiling and consider if aesthetics are an important thing on this planet.

It's fairly typical in office high-rise design these days, but I'm surprised they don't have some dropped ceiling clouds in select places (or maybe they do, just not in this photo).

To answer a few things and my thoughts, it was late last night when I posted the original two images.  I was mainly in the parking level for a good bit and it was somewhat hot and sweltering.

@AltNative   yes, there are round HVAC ducts I saw (see image), just in the hallways that I saw.  As to how expensive they are, that's out of my expertise. 

@Madison ParkitectThere may be from what I'm told, but I'll believe it when I see it 

@CLT2014   As a Duke employee, that observation was pretty funny :tw_lol:.  

Once I start going on a more regular basis, I'll be mindful to take better images.  The first usable floor won't be ready for employee occupancy until early next year.

My guess would be they begin testing the lighting scheme in October or slightly later this year timeframe.  Duke Energy was reported to be occupying the building in the 1st quarter of 2023 I believe.  Light testing is some of the last things they do and most likely won’t happen until well after the Building Signage has been fully installed.

I see the CGS platform is close to completed for the most part and where the canopy columns will be I think. I wonder if it will be just a regular simple steel canopy or something more interesting, by looks of those column footings it doesn’t look like a typical steel canopy. Could be wrong I guess.

Currently mid September if there's been no delays, I think the darker glass will have lights installed much like DEC1, but that's about all I know right now. They've tested it a few times in smaller sections but that's about it.

^^ Thanks Mgelbach.  I don't think I like the idea of it having a similar lighting theme as DEC1 although I don't know how it could be done differently. Maybe the top portion? This city doesn't have room for any more crowns lol. Guess I'll wait until I see this thing lit up.

Not a big fan of parking garages, but this garage looks a bit like a jewelry box or perhaps a modern art museum.  As garages go, this is a stellar one.  Makes the Lowe’s tower garage integration look like a cheap dump.  At this point, Uptown still churns out the higher caliber projects, in my opinion.

Yeah, it's pretty wild to compare this parking deck to the Ally one next door.
