I know someone posted this elsewhere but since it is apart of this block's development I will put it here too.

""A 213-room, 13-story Homewood Suites by Hilton will be developed at the corner of North College and East Eighth streets, on a 0.4-acre site that Raleigh developer Concord Hospitality Enterprises purchased for $3 million earlier this year. The rest of the block will be developed by the multifamily arm of Lennar Corp., which is planning a 549-unit apartment project with street-level retail."""    from a subscriber business journal article today  https://www.bizjournals.com/charlotte/news/2018/09/20/flag-confirmed-for-uptown-hotel-in-first-ward.html

""Hren said the goal would be to submit for a construction permit by early 2019 and begin construction by the third quarter. The hotel likely wouldn't open until early 2021.""

The architect makes me think we will get another awful design like the Residence Inn in 3rd ward, or the Hampton Inn in 2nd. Barf.

When did it get a paint job?  It's been a long time since I've been on 16 but what happened to the orange and purple?  Dislike.
