It's possible that this thread was misnamed.  Earlier this afternoon, I spoke to a Construction Manager onsite, and he told me that no one at the site uses the term "Ellis".   He said that the general contractor (Hoar Construction) and all of the subcontractors refer to this project as Market 42.  He said that there's gonna be a new Market Street that runs parallel to the LYNX Blue Line from the 7th Street Market to 9th Street.  He also said that there will be a large "Market 42" sign placed atop the 33-story residential tower (similar to the "Uptown 550" sign on Stonewall Street).

Yes, according to the Construction Manager with whom  I spoke this afternoon, they're getting ready to "jump" the tower crane.  "Jump" was the Construction Manager's term.   And that's the reason  there aren't any workers on the Homewood Suites portion of the job site; they'll be back once the tower crane has been jumped which will take about a week.  The Construction Manager said that there are still 14 floors left 'til the topping out.

Definitely not misnamed it has a website.

In fact, Market Street is already a street in Charlotte, so that being its address is not a foregone conclusion.
