Some good things about Nashville's boom:

1) Growing skyline makes town look more prominent, wealthy.

2) Old neighborhoods being revitalized.

3) All downtown projects, save one, are better than what preceded them.

Regrets:

1) I worry about losing old structures in Germantown, Rutledge Hill.

2) The beautiful old house with the big shade trees on the Virgin Hotel site is gone.

3) The block that included the two art galleries, JJ's, Noshville Deli and a nice old house were purchased for a project that does not seem to be going forward.

4) The gorgeous homes that made up the Freewill Baptist College seem to be in jeopardy. Losing them would detract significantly from the appearance of that part of West End

People are coming to Nashville now partly because of the way it looks, and it looks that way because it has a good mix of new and old.
