Heaven's Door Spirits and Center for the Arts will open in the fall of 2020 at the 159-year-old Elm Street Methodist Church at 614 5th Ave. South.  The Bob Dylan-affiliated venture will feature a craft whiskey distillery, a whiskey library, a restaurant, and a 360 seat performance venue.  It will also display pieces of Dylan's paintings and metalwork sculptures.  This is the structure that was most recently home to Tuck-Hinton Architecture. Yet another fantastic addition to lower SoBro with lots of historic significance.

So they're going to rebuild the steeple, a very unique one indeed. I'd never guess that's the same building. A great location for a distillery named "Heaven's Door". And it will actually be something of a gateway to downtown from the east/airport area.

Wow, I love the restoration and rebuilding the steeple!     The new construction will also eliminate one more SoBro parking lot.   

The Post article mentions that Darek Bell (one of the Corsair owners) and investors bought the property in 2017 but doesn't say if there's currently a connection with Corsair.     The Heaven's Door website refers to Dylan's collaboration partner as "Spirits Investment Partners", but doesn't indicate who the principals of SIP are.

It rained like crazy when the draft was in Philly, draft didnt miss a beat. The stage itself will be covered (as far as the renderings and past draft stages go), so really it will only be the fans that get wet. If we are being honest here, the rain is not going to stop fans who have booked tickets and will be travelling here. If the SEC brought in almost 250,000 people I would expect the draft easily pass that number, so I will still expect a packed house.

Plus it's people's chance to boo Goodell, that's always going to bring people in.

Looking at the HUGE stage / staging area the NFL is constructing along the Cumberland bank, I actually look at it and think, "Wow...what would our riverfront park be like if we actually had that large of an area for food trucks, tents, sitting areas, etc?"
