Somewhat strange looking condo project featured in today's Nashville Post by William:  https://www.nashvillepost.com/business/development/residential-real-estate/article/21143024/fall-start-eyed-for-pie-town-condo-project

To rise six floors and without a name as yet, the building will sit on what had been two parcels with addresses of 629 and 635 Seventh Ave. S.  The project headed up by local developer Meg Epstein will offer 78 units. Up before Planning on Oct. 8.

Now here's a good looking building. It reminds me of a couple local structures that have been lost over the years.

When new construction like this come along, it almost eases the pain of losing some landmarks. Almost.

A new mixed-use structure of unknown size featuring residential and retail is being planned for the .21 acre site at 1300 Jefferson St. Bradley Development will be the lead on the project, with assistance from Steve Armistead and Meg Epstein. The trip has formed a new LLC which purchased the plot for $800,000 in May.  A nondescript, non-historical 1 story cinderblock structure that formerly housed hot wings restaurant will be razed to make way for the new building.

A couple things, it is IMPOSSIBLE to rush anything through the council. They all have the ability to defer proposals/bills.

Why don't we spend money to set up a shelter instead of continuing to let people live outside in a park. Something like the project someone posted that's going on in Glencliff with the tiny houses.

Living outside in a public space is not a long term solution, no matter how close it is to things that they need.

That's a safe assumption. The new regime effectively killed it by siding with the renovation crowd. Cooper's platform was opposition to subsidies for downtown developers. Paramount was an iconic project, and one teed-up perfectly for him to 'deliver' his promise. It didn't help matters that a coalition of nearby property owners, notably the Hermitage Hotel, were opposed to the disruptions that construction of Paramount would cause to their business.

The residents of the park have migrated to other areas of downtown, and especially 3rd Ave S. We’ve had a business In Encore permanently close due to safety concerns posed by homeless people coming in and harassing employees, and MNPD has had to place a camera at 3rd/Demonbreun to dissuade people from crowding there.

Ooo I like, looks like maybe wood construction? Or just wood cladding.

We know definitively that this cannot be light frame wood construction due to its height.  Here's to hoping for mass timber though...it's got the look of it.  Do a concrete podium for the garage and the pool and let the tower be mass timber?  Fingers crossed.
