The water sewer permit alludes to a hotel. Like we need another hotel at that location. This company Alamo Manhattan that has the site under contract has a sizable project in Portland, but other than that the portfolio is not very impressive. If they do a hotel, I will suspect it will be a mixed-used project with residential.  Please DO NOT POST THIS on the Twitter feed.

I just looked at Alamo Manhattan's portfolio.  Definitely not projects to the scale of what you'd expect at this location, especially considering the price the Carrell family is certainly asking for it.

Yeah, maybe they'll use this as a springboard out of their usual low to mid-rise projects.  One would think they'll have to go at least 30 floors (prob more like 40) here for it to make sense.  And most of what they've done does look halfway decent, so there's that.

I’ve been working at TPAC this week and have walked by the Capitol Hotel addition several times. From what is visible from the Polk Avenue sidewalk, those new rooms look TINY. Like NYC hotel room tiny!

I remember that dump from going downtown over the years, and I can't understand why anyone would consider investing any money (much less millions) into an addition/rehab. The thing should have been demo'd decades ago. Who can help me remember what the name was... drawing a blank.

I think at times it might have been The Downtowner, a Best Western, and/or a Days Inn.

I stayed there the first time I came to Nashville, in 2006, and it was a Best Western then.
